Supercars Bathurst 500 - Super2 Round 1 Wrap Up
It was great to see Tyler back on track again and running again with MW Motorsport in the Nissan Altima.
Round 1 was contested at Mount Panorama in Bathurst as a support category to the Supercars Bathurst 500. The weekend consisted of two qualifying sessions and two 12 laps races.
Everingham was the standout qualifier for the first race, finishing the session in third place and within 0.08 sec from pole. A clutch problem when approaching the grid stopped his race before it began.
In the second race, Everingham again qualified third and finished the race in an impressive second place, putting pressure on race winner Jordan Boys for the majority of the race and almost forcing him into an error at the end.
"It was a positive weekend, pace wise" said Everingham. "Whilst it was disappointing to start the series with zero points from race one I managed to reset for Sundays Race 2 to come away with third in qualifying, second in the race and the fastest lap of the race which was really positive. It shows we are not here to mess around and we are going for race wins"
The next round of the Dunlop Super2 Series will be held at Winton on May 29-30.
